I like fishing for crappie with my handcrafted feather jigs,  ice jigs, and spoons. Fishing4crappie Beyond Basics has a wealth of fishing tips  available on a CD or as an e-book. You will find diagrams and pictures of my favorite fishing for crappie and Bluegill rig setups. I use dental floss to make my stop knots.

I am Michael C. Carter, Shipahoy41, "The Crappie Sheriff."

My lure, Danger! Danger! is everything you want in a jig! The blade on the bottom attracts fish who are looking up for food! The marabou action drives crappies wild! This lure has color, flash, vibration and is the ultimate jig!

"I am ProStaff for http://www.crappie.com/crappie/jig-t...in4crappie.com I have been fishing for over 54 years now and I have used and tested many lures but nothing like the new Danger/Danger lure that fishing enthusiast Mike Carter (The Crappie Sheriff) has developed. My two favorite go to lures have always been the Blakemore Road Runner and the Johnson’s Beetle Spin. Mike's Danger/Danger lure is every bit as good as those are. They can be fished like a Road Runner or rigged on a hairpin type spinner and fished like a beetle spin.

I have been testing and experimenting with Danger/Danger today. It’s a great lure. I fished it like a Road runner with out a bobber. I would cast it out and let it sink to the bottom...then slowly reel in the slack and then lift my rod tip and let it settle again...then slowly reel in the slack and do that again all the way to the bank. I caught a bunch of nice bluegill doing this. It was drizzling rain so I did not have the digital camera out. I then rigged Danger/Danger up like a Johnson’s beetle spin by Pure Fishing. That did the trick! I started catching small 10 to 12 inch bass one right after the other...I was still catching bluegill also. I even caught a channel catfish. Out of the different colors that I have the Goldfire worked the best for me today. Here is a picture of it rigged up like a beetle spin. It is a great lure very versatile as it can be used so many different ways for many different species.

The unique shape and weight of this lure makes the fall and the flutter different than the others. I have caught crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, and even channel catfish on this lure. It is simply amazing. I plan to do further testing and try it on white bass, yellow bass, and some other species as well. These lures are currently being hand made and sold through Mike’s website at fishing4crappie.com. I feel like this lure will set the pan fishing world on fire.

I personally like using a horizontal presentation under a slip bobber. Fishing a small jig under a slip bobber or a fixed float is effective and it is deadly on Crappies. These are some Shellcrackers and Bluegills that I caught at Cullman Lake in Alamama. The biggest Shellcracker was caught on a pink and chartreuse jig tipped with a waxworm.

Quote December 4, 2008 from Doug Stange, Editor in Chief In-Fisherman Magazine.  "Michael, The dropper rig looks good.  I’ve watched a lot of underwater video of dropper rigs in action and there are a lot of times the fish hit the spoon instead of the dropper jig; so your single-hook on the weight idea is a good one.

“Great CD you put together there, Ship. I am going to my parents' house this weekend and I'm going to sit down with it and discuss it with my niece who loves to fish. It is a great learning tool because of all the well-explained illustrations and diagrams.” Black Crow www.crappie.com

I really, really thank you for the CD. It is a wonderful tool for any fishamen to have. I read the whole thing twice already. The more I read the better I understand what you have put together. Love it. May god bless and again thank you very much.
