Information about Bob Spare

Bob Spare is like a father to me.  His website is www.crappiebasics.com and I want you to visit his site. This man has taught me a lot about life and about the sport of crappie fishing that we both enjoy.  The good Lord brought him into my life after my natural father had passed away.  There was an immediate bond between us and that is why we have teamed up to try and share our knowledge.

We have combined our 130 years of knowledge to produce this CD to help people catch crappies.  Here are a few free tips.

fishing tip

Live minnows and jigs
of all sorts are still the
best for chasing those
crappie.
If you are a die hard
fan of using small
spinner baits for
crappie, if properly
presented, you will not
only catch crappie, but
other fish as well to
make your fishing
adventure more
enjoyable.  If you are
successful in with you
are doing, stay with it.
But it is fun to
experiment to add to
your arsenal.

Fishing tip

Crappie Hint
:
Feathered jigs will
have a natural look in
the water suspended
under a bobber, the
waves of the water
moving the bobber will
give the jig a natural
look and tend to last all
day.

Fishing tip

Tube jigs will get torn
up after 3-5 bits, and
will not look appealing
to those elusive
crappies.

Fishing tip

Catching all small
ones, no keepers?

Use bigger minnows
or jigs! Summer time
fish with NO bobber or
called veritical fishing.
Crappie in the summer
time tend to bite light
so watch for just a
slightest movement of
your line.

Fishing tip

Tip your jigs with
partial minnows,  just
as effective as using a
whole minnow, and
less expensive.

Fishing tip

Watch the Shad
jumping the waters.
Crappies don't make
waves when chasing
the shads, instead they
make a very slight "V"
ripple as they tend to
swim just below the
surface.

Fishing tip

If you smell fish in the
air that is because
school of crappie are
chasing shad up near
the surface of the
water.

Fishing tip

Selecting Jig Colors

1. In clear water, use
clear jigs.
